I went to the AGM and feel a whole lot better about what is going on.
After last Friday?s announcement and the belting in the shares I thought it looked grim.
The Chairman first up said that the resolutions for granting of options to non-exec directors was being withdrawn.. He said that with the proxies they would have been approved but they withdrew them because of the delays at Andash. I thought this was impressive. It showed that these people are serious about what they do. They aren?t on for a free ride.
Lots of questions from shareholders (packed small room and a few people standing up.)
Simon, The Chairman and Hugh McKinnon all spoke about what is going on at Andash and how the government is going.
One of the key comments Simon made was that there are a group of 5 in a community of 5000 peoiple, which wield undue influence on the council and whom oppose the project. They are greenmailing the company. Out of the 5, 2 are talking to the company and progress is being made. The violence aspect as referred to in the recent announcement was commented on as noisy locals with the potential to throw stones . ( good no guns).
They are all confident that Andash will get going albeit with a delay. The main reason for the confidence is that they think the governments are becoming more and more confident to deal with major national economic issues and get them resolved. The government is on our side.
They made a really interesting point by stating that the wife of the ex-president ( who was booted out last year) was really friendly and part of the 5 families. These people have been used to getting their way with the old regime, but now things are moving against them.
Its not religious, its just about money and power.
The way I read it is that the governement and Kentor are working together to get everything sorted at Andash and that we will be ok.
Simon also said that a resource is coming out soon on Gabanintha.
Meeting went for and hour and a half. , So many questions and all of them played with a straight bat.
I?m really happy with these guys. I think the shares are going back up.
Cheers
