All assets rise and fall over time and property is no different. With the large costs of buying and selling a property it should be a long term investment. The values are falling at the moment but have also risen over the previous few years. It doesn't mean that it is a bad investment.
I'm sure most will agree that values rose too fast and something needed to happen which is. Property won't drop as much as the stock market did as people still need a place to live and there is also a growing population.
Hopefully in the future we don't have big rises or falls and it remains steady. If people want to invest in property, good luck to them as long as they know there is a risk - just as with buying shares.
