Wayne McCrae claims he was misquoted in respect to the Xstrata takeover statement.
Bet you Xstrata wished they had taken CDU over then. With the involvement of Oceanwide that door has closed.
There was a rapid spike in shares as you state and a shorter got badly burnt having to cover to $10.
On the 10th July, 2006 Robin Bromby wrote " The Australian has learned that the shorting of 900,000 shares and options on Monday---clearly in the belief that AMI'S share rise would be short lived-- has cost someone in excess of $6 million" OUCH!!!
Wonder if he learnt his lesson or ever shorted again.
Talking of news, it is all good and flowing regularly.There should be more coming shortly but from what angle I can only conjecture.
