i can't answer for mr jones.

but for me it's all gut feel. i've just spent too many thousands of hours watching markets depths. just the slow share price movement in lots of small volumes, small buys always quick to reappear. sellers being soaked up, quick shove down quick supported again with small orders. bots at work but not really trying to move the shareprice significantly one direction or the other. maybe daytraders might have been soaked up as the first few line of the buy/sell stacks either side of the last sale price have reduced sig in size. hard to explain i just got the feeling of accumulation, i'm not always right but over the last couple of years i recon my gut feel regrading market depth movements is usually right 80-90% or the time.
