debono and rusty, Probably should've mentioned I meant if he buys back in at the same price. Claim the tax loss at the price of brokerage.
But maybe he sees that there'll be another opportunity to buy in that low after the end of FY, or maybe he bought back in minus the "other purposes" and a notice is still pending. When it comes down to it though, it's probably just peanuts to him. Just food for thought...
