Hhmmm, BB I went back and looked at that ad and right at the beginning the background of the sky is a dark shade of grey and there is billowing grey stuff coming out of the chimneys and as the smoke goes up in the air there is blackness. All through the places where people speak the background is greyness and darkening. If that is not sending a bent message about what is coming out of our chimneys now I do not know what is. In addition we know the power station in the back ground is not Australian.
With regard to Hazelwood I found that that shot of bellowing smoke which is most impressive that you posted is a favourite of many sites whose philosophy you support but I have been unable to find when the photo was taken. As the Power station was completed about 1971 I would not be surprised if it were not taken before any control mechanism were put in place to take the air pollution out.
