This my take on what cause momentum it all speed of trade and volume and market conditions.

See the day before NML announcement.. the whole short term and quick traders sector were desperately looking to buy a good announcement or potentially green runner.

The speed of trade being excuted in such a short amount of times.

Being in the ten top in volume churning. Especially if its holding no 1 spot and its in green.

It climbed to 52 week high then dropped down to below opening price and still in the green. You can garentee your self everyone is trying to make the sp go to the moon.

There's many smaller indication. but this is fundamental.

This is the fundamental, the pragmatic way, i think thats guarantee you wont lose and only win..

Dont worry about the company..the announcement.. just get in and get out.. and do it as quick as you can. and then do it again. on the same stock or a different one.
