DRILLING at Frontier Resources? Andewa gold-copper project is now tipped to start in mid-June following a series of delays.

The 10,000 metre drilling program for the project, located in the West New Britain Province of Papua New Guinea, was delayed due to customs clearance of specific drill rods and consumables.

Frontier Resources will have the capacity to drill to a maximum of about 1700 metres depth with the track mounted CS1800 and to 1100m with the track mounted, but also heli-flyable, CS1300.

Currently 932m of hand trenching and more than 18 kilometres of soil sampling have been completed on the project.

The Central New Britain licence contains multiple porphyry copper-gold occurrences and an unnamed porphyry aeromagnetic structure.

It has not been explored for more than 26 years.

Exploration activities thus far have proved successful, with grid controlled soil sampling returning positive results in 2010.
