nevertheless, your point that a total ban on possessing guns will only remove guns from law abiding citizens and leave the crims untouched is absolutely true - so what to do about crims with guns?.....
drug related violent crime is easily solved - treat drug takers as people with a medical condition instead of criminalising them - but there's far too much of a vested interest in maintaining the criminality of drug taking - there are too many officials on the take and too many people whose livelihoods are dependent on ensuring drug taking remains a criminal activity.....
look at the US its war on drugs - a total failure - they really can't get anything right can they?.....
