As you know jet fuel is basically kerosene which burns at 800c.
Question what temperature does steel, titanium and aluminium melt at considering the aircraft has approx 15 tonnes of steel and titanium and 50 tonnes aluminium.
So we have an air craft that weighs approx 65 tonnes which is in excess of 15lbs of metal for each gallon of kerosene.
