re eps and numb of shares
From the perspective of establishing a per annum rate of earnings on funds or share capital or eps, it is not necessarily incorrect to relate a weighted average number to dollar earnings ie if they had issued the shares on day 1 of the financial year then the dollar earnings would have been higher (by at least bank interest).
From the perspective of the investor and for the purpose of establishing a dividend, the eps will be as you say the number of shares which will share those earnings, irrespective of time issued.
Do you have a feeling for eps going forward 2011 final and FY2012?
