Past performance is not always repeated. The world is now a much more different animal than it was then. People are now more leveraged, rightly scared and have decided to deleverage accordingly.
If some people are stuggling to pay mortgages, credit cards, electricity and food bills do you honestly think they will care about their insurance premiums? The insurance game will become a commodity business, the cheapest will win the game. A big rise in premiums will just tip the balance the cheapest players way.
