I understand the statistical part of your analysis...the idea that certain critical times and price levels have a statistical probability of repeating themselves, and I now understand what you mean by saying " if the data allows it"
I think I took it in a different sense..meaning that there wa s another filter in your system which proscribed certain data from formal consideration when arriving at the probability of something repeating itself.Thus you had a way of disallowing certain data from consideration and it was that filter that I was interested in having explained.
Obviously I was on the wrong track.
All data is grist for your mill!
