When Ian Gandel came into the picture we had a mining company that hadn't put a hole in the ground for over a decade. Those of us hanging on by our fingertips to a receding precipice mistakenly thought a savior had arrived.
But the Board and its Chairman have a chance to redeem themselves simply by doing what they are there to do - mine something and make a profit in which we all can share. That's all of us, including the members of the Board.
No more wasteful prospecting, fanciful expansion into Erirea or other elsewheres. Just get mining underway in Abu Dabbab and don't throw away the Heemskirk asset.
Recent events have shown there is a consequence for maltreatment of investors. Let us all hope the lesson has been learned.
Imagine what GIP can do with the goodwill of its shareholders. We've kept this thing afloat for years, but we won't let it be dismantled for someone's short-term gain.
