Curlew, I am not advocating an either/or situation. Ever! Quite often both can correspond. However, the emotionless politicians are no better than than the totally emotional and unintelligent folk. This was a very simple case of people needing help and we went to help. Just as Greece and Israel went in to help with the Turkish earthquakes. These are things that affect the world at the human level, where a great deal of intelligence is needed in order to serve the human need. To sit back and let the likes of Vanstone, Ruddick and Howard decide whether it's the politically correct thing to do is a very cynical use of political (not humane) power. I'll have none of it!
