In response to request from a poster on a now discontinued thread a meeting was held by the "Forum of Traditional Owners of the Groote Arcipelago in Matters of Sea Country", the group of TO's constituting the decision making body on the Archipelago in matters of Sea Country.

The meeting was held yesterday morning, Friday 17th June.

Procedurally: the motion was drawn up by a small executive group and presented to the meeting, as was the poster's communication. NT Accredited interpreters were utilised at the meeting.

For verification of the authenticity of the motion contact:
Ms Rebecca Butler, Legol Officer of the Anindilyakwa Land Council- [email protected].

    "Motion:

That the Forum has posted on the Hotcopper Website the following-

    1. The TO's reject any request from the Share Holders of GOT, posting on the HC forum, to enter into negotiations or talks with Groote Resources in regard to their sea based tenements.
    2. The letter to the CM of the NT dated, 20th October, 2010, (recently posted on Hot Copper), at this point in time constitutes the defintive position of the TO's.
    3. The TO's understand that some share holders are "mums and dad" shareholders afraid of losing money on their investment. The TO's ask that those share holders also be aware that the TO's are also "mums and dads" who are investing in an anti seabed mining campaign to secure the future spiritual and physical well being of our children and future generations.
    4. The TO's see their future being in sustainable and environmentally friendly economic activity, particularly in the sea.
    5. Many of the comments posted on the HC forum scorning our Spiritual beliefs and practices do nothing but harden the TO's position in opposing GR.
    6. The TO's understand that GOT is known as a "speculative" stock. The TO's have made considerable effort to ensure that our opposition to GOT, and the issues involved, from our perpective, have been firmly and forthrightly defined in the public domain. Any losses incurred by investors are their responsibility alone.

    Motion passed unanimously"
