You are always saying how experienced you are at this game, but all the facts point to one conclusion either you are a beginner or not much of a trader. Ive pulled you up on a couple of things in the past.
You say -
"if you think small volume selling is not significant then you haven't been in the market long enough - it's an amateur mistake to think that small volume selling isn't significant"
These are the facts, and i have seen it happen many a time.
When you have decreased volume pushing prices higher or lower the message here is usually that there is little support for the current price movement, and the trend has a low likelihood of continuing.
This may be a sign of uncertainty and the gains or lossos may be short lived. Without the conformation of volume it's very difficult to be sure of any price move or new trend.
These are certainly uncertain times for shares at the moment. Just to name a few peers that have been doing it tough as well (really the whole market is doing it tough) -SSN, SEA, TXN, EKA. Also XEJ has been the worst performing sector for the last few weeks, which is aggrivating the problem.
