Can anyone interpret what these figures mean please?
ELKEDRA DIAMONDS NL 2002-11-25 ASX-SIGNAL-G
HOMEX - Perth
+++++++++++++++++++++++++ RECONNAISSANCE SAMPLING
Interpretation of Landsat imagery and radiometric data together with photo-interpretation analysis has identified extensive surface manganese occurrences extending over a gross area of affectively 24,000 square kilometers in Elkedra's eastern tenements. During Elkedra's helicopter-assisted diamond stream sediment sampling program, reconnaissance sampling of these manganese occurrences was undertaken over an 18,000 square kilometer area. The first group of samples has been assayed with additional samples collected awaiting final assaying. Significant manganese and base metal results have been returned.
MANGANESE
Assay results indicate additional manganese targets are present (Table 1) in Elkedra's eastern tenements with up to 53 % manganese reported from surface grab samples.

During late October early November 48 RAB holes, totaling 1,572m were drilled at the Lucy Creek #2 manganese target. This was a reconnaissance drilling program designed to assess the shallow dipping outcropping anomaly.
Visual inspection of drill spoils has identified an occurrence of stratiform, massive manganese over a surface area of 240,000sqm which is open-ended to the south. Drilling was on 100m to 200m centers with intersections ranging from 1 to 3 meters of massive manganese. All manganese occurred at less than 20 meters depth. In addition, possible lower grade "replacement manganese" is pervasive in many of the holes. Final assessment of drilling results is awaiting geochemical analysis.
BASE METALS
Reconnaissance sampling of iron-rich and manganiferous outcrops returned highly significant results. Assay results of the first group of samples included Lead values up to 2.3%, Barium up to 4.2%, Zinc up to 3,500 ppm, Cobalt up to 1,600 ppm, Arsenic up to 2,000 ppm, Cerium up to 1.0%, Molybdenum up to 40 ppm and anomalous Silver.
These results are consistent with those expected of a mineralizing system, and confirm the prospectivity of the area for significant stratiform lead-zinc deposits similar in style to the world class Mount Isa/McArthur River deposits located further east in Queensland.
SUMMARY
The drilling results at Lucy Creek confirm that the surface manganese expressions at this locality have buried down-dip extensions. Further, the results give added encouragement to the regional manganese potential where literally hundreds of similar manganese expressions outcrop over a 24,000 square kilometre area in Elkedra's eastern tenements.
Apart from the manganese potential, elevated values of a range of base-metals and rare earth elements are consistent with the presence of a regional hydrothermal system potentially related to a large base-metal mineralized system. Geochemical sampling at each of the diamond stream sediment sample sites, coupled with surface rock samples, is resulting in an extensive geochemical database allowing for regional kimberlite and base-metal target generation.
