david75, OPR has a presumed capacity of 45mtpa, SMC wanted 15mtpa of that... MMX/Mitsubishi want 30-35mtpa... GBG/Ansteel want 15mtpa... other small players want a few mtpa for themselves. One problem with OPR is that it isn't big enough to cater for the expected demand coming from the Midwest (hence why there has been plenty of discussion to extend capacity of OPR to 60mtpa). One player who now have the stated intention of waiting ("parking" I think was the term the SMC CEO said) until there is certainty surrounding the timelines with OPR isn't going to affect the economics of the project, since currently demand > capacity... if the situation was such that demand equalled or was slightly above the proposed capacity then problems may arise with the current scope of OPR.
