retirement as we know it is ?dead?: , page-2

I cannot get 9-5 work anymore because I am too old. I am not that cocnerned as I do some online work, invest etc but at times I want to get at a 6 month job, even if not for money for social reasons and it is difficult. So I worry we have more and more people retiring way too early due to ageism. If we have people exiting the workforce at 50 as deemed too old, and they live to 90 that is 40 years retirement. Just insane. The government want people to work until 70 but who is hiring a 70 year old?
