The NBN only ever made sense if they imposed a monopoly on Australia. They ACCC has already stated that the NBN is anticompetitive.
Fortunately Telstra is only restricted in promoting wireless as a direct replacement for the NBN and their employees cannot promote any Teltra services if doing work at a customers premises on behalf of the NBN Co. Telstra therefore can and will rapidly roll out LTE services, they just can't mention the NBN in any adverts.
Just read a report that stated the NBN Co will not reach the 20% rollout required to stop punitive payouts by 2013 if cancelled. Therefore rollback and redesign by coalition likely.
