    PPH, where you been?

The Greens have for some time flagged a key requirement to support all four flavours of renewable energy: wind, solar, geothermal and wave.

Given that the Greens will have to compromise on the starting carbon price, it seems to make logical negotiation sense that the price reduction could be offset by more government support for renewable energy. In fact even here on HC, those who are totally against the carbon price often seem to support more government support for renewable energy. It will be a vote winner because as far as people are concerned it won't be coming straight out of their pocket, even though government funds always do.

Its a complete joke that on the one hand we are attempting to move to a low carbon economy but on the other hand our home grown wave and geothermal industries are dying on the vine. Solar and wind are not looking too good either.

IMHO its about time the imminent balance of power for the Greens was used to good advantage for the sector. Bring it on I say.
