most people dont get it
they dont realise that a mining tax is not only just a drag on some companies in their super fund, but the market as a whole
they dont realise the mining companies can wear massive losses when a mine shuts down due to low prices as well
they dont get the massive risk and investment needed to get a mine open
they dont get the high paid jobs it creates here that benefits locals
they dont get it that a kid straight out of high school in the pilbara gets to earn 100k with no experience no matter which company they work for mining or not
all they want is there "fair share" and where is by the way?
make the move to a mining town or Perth it cost me 20k, or better yet pick up a shovel and go prospecting for gold in Kalgoorlie. then you can get your fair share and do something for it
its no wonder the mining tax is so popular in non mining states and so on the nose in WA
