Am I missing something fundamental here? Please tell me.
How is that Australia can think of having a carbon tax, which is designed to reduce carbon emissions and help the 'Worlds' environment.
Yet Australia remains the worlds largest exporter of coal. Now coal is one of the main culprits in producing the worlds excess of carbon emissions in the first place.
Why should the economy at large be faced with shouldering this burden. If the politicans were deadly serious about reducing Australias role in producing the worlds carbon emssions, then surely the place to start would be reducing or stopping our coal exports. And that will NEVER happen as long as there is coal in the ground and tax dollars to be earned.
The carbon tax is really just a political stunt....
