    The author of this piece (link below) is a seasoned journalist based in Davao. I reckon in this article he captures the feeling of many locals (including Sth Cotabato councillors) who have not directly benefited from SMI's activities thus far. You can sense the distrust, which unfortunately is a legacy of past mining in the country, a legacy leading to sentiment that SMI still has to overcome.
