tiger airways are too much competition?

Singapore Airlines have 32% of Tiger so I doubt that Tiger will be grounded permanently. If so Qantas may come under scrutiny when engine panels fall off,planes diving etc in Singapore airspace. Tiger fly the Airbus 320 which is acknowledged to be a difficult plane to fly in some conditions.Perhaps this is more to do with increasing competition in the domestic market.
