The basket price is now $205, more than triple what it was back on 21st October 2010 (see Mt Weld Basket Price). Back then, there wasn't even a strategic alliance with Sojitz and I'm sure there were a lot more doubts over the schedule than now. Yet the SP was higher than it is currently.
I have no doubt last week's reports incorrectly saying production would be delayed 1 to 2 years were deliberate attempts to smash the share price.
There has been loads of threads the past couple days (sorry to add another one :) and because of this I think it's easy to lose sight of the forest for the trees. I found this comparison helped me to see the forest again, so thought I'd share it :)
