It never ceases to amaze me that such a large percentage of posts on CTP are from people who claim to have no holding in the company. I follow numerous companies on HC, and I would hazard a guess that there is no other company which attracts such a huge following from non-holders.
And why is this so, I ask myself. Two possibilities spring to mind - maybe a concerted campaign to drive down the SP so that these people, and maybe their cohorts, can buy at a better price; or maybe a group of people who have bought high, panicked and sold low, rather than trading their buy price down to a more acceptable level.
Anyone reading the concerted negative, and sometimes vitriolic, comments from these non-holders could be excused for thinking that coal was the only asset which CTP has, and that the coal story is potentially so huge that it sounds more like something out of a science fiction magazine - too big for mere mortals to get their head around.
The fact is that the coal story was, is and will continue to be simply a bonus play (albeit a potentially huge bonus) for all those investors who bought into CTP for the oil and gas.
The reality is that production and income for this company in the near term is likely to come from oil, followed by gas, and that the potentially mind-boggling income from coal will probably be at least seven or eight years away.
But that won't stop the share price from starting to appreciate as the true potential of this company starts to unfold.
Of all the speculative stocks which I have invested in during the past forty three years, I rate CTP as the most exciting, and the company with the most potential.
The knockers and downrampers are entitled to their opinion, but I am always suspicious of non-holders who post negative comments without any supporting facts, particularly when there appears to be a concerted attack by the non-holders.
For anyone who is seriously interested in the energy potential in Central Australia, I would suggest that you do some research on the almost incredible amount of activity there, with companies large and small staking claims in areas where CTP has already established a premier position.
