This research has been pushed hard on a gullible media. It is easy to speculate as to who might have a vested interest in promoting the idea that bountiful REE supplies are just around the corner. The reality for this discovery is that concentrations are typically around 0.1%, depth to mineralisation are in the order of 5km and there is no measured resource.

I cannot see this source of REE being developed in under 15 years. Even then REE prices would need to have kept rising at something like the average rate for the past few years.

There are measurable concentrations of REE in urine. Perhaps some enterprising shorters might want to "pool" their underwear and establish another potential resource. I anticipate there may be a few wet shorts over coming months. The LAMP construction phase is approaching completion and approval processes continue. I am anticipating production by year's end.
