WPG Resources has"beefed up" its management team in anticipation of approval for its Peculiar Knob iron ore mine.
WPG named George Gaal as financial controller, Anne Keaney as general counsel, Ian White as risk, audit and systems general manager and mine planner Kurt Carmeri.
The company said the appointments would "help facilitate the company's transition to developer and producer status" and would be based in Adelaide or on site.
WPG Resources hopes to name more senior staff in environmental management, government and community relations, geology and surveying soon but is awaiting approval of the Mining and Rehabilitation Program (MARP) for its project.
Other appointments including executive director Heath Roberts' move from general counsel to external and human relations role and the appointment of Wayne Rossiter as chief executive of WPG's clean coal venture with New York Stock Exchange listed company Evergreen Energy.
Last month WPG Reasources announced it had let all of the major contracts for the iron ore project, which had a capital expenditure budget of $139 million plus working capital needs of $29 million.
