Just wait till Prime Minister Abbott shuts down the NBN and has to pay compo to Telstra and then has to figure out how to integrate the separated companies.
If anything TLS will have sold long term leases over its ducts that will not be used :D Money for nothing. Depending of course on the precise terms of the deal with NBN Co.
If Abbott goes ahead with the rumoured FTTN project the only feasible supplier would be Telstra --- more money for nothing much at all....
TLS is a massive regulatory arbitrage play as the sovereign risk surrounding it has nowhere near gone away.
Anyway I think the key to Telstra's shareprice right now is the Carbon Tax: If Australia buys what Gillard is selling on Sunday, she will likely win the next election; if not then Tony will likely win.
