Yes we are missing the point. Sino can't build OPR without Jack Hills being mined, neither will Ansteel. Barnett can take it off mmx, but then mmx may do a Sino and shelve JHEP.
I think mmx should sit tight, continue mining at JH which gives them a profit of +$100m a year, so they wont go broke and see what Barnett and Chinese mates do. Once thing is for certain if the chinese buid it they will not want to start from scratch and will have come up with big dollars for the work already done or otherwise they have couple of years to go to get to where we are now. They will also have to offer mmx reasonable tariff rates. The boot will be on the other foot and Barnett will have a lot of egg on his face
