Hang on a sec, db, didn't you try to argue before that Santos interest in buying ESG wasn't for a takeover, but was AN INVESTMENT?

I pointed out three reasons for Santos investment in ESG and PEL 238:

And you argued fiercely that, no, Santos had no interest in a takeover of ESG. And no, Santos had heaps of gas so didn't need to buy any more from ESG (despite what David Knox said recently on HC about wanting gas from Gunnedah to supply GLNG.)

No, you said Santos was in ESG for an INVESTMENT.

Or was it just a $500,000,000 'speculation'? Rather a large wager, don't you think? Was David Knox's local betting shop closed in July 2009, and he felt like a punt? lol
