Yes but the "progress" of the reserve upgrade does not have to be released.
You can bet SANTOS know the progress and thought "Holy SHYTE lets launch a bid and offer the ESG guys fat bonuses and/or ongoing positions if they toe the line..."
ESG have toed the line but know when the reserves are announced, SANTOS might face some competition ;)
