I came from melbourne to perth and the soil is hardly worm friendly in comparison, although mt lawley/bayswater area is probably better places than most
im no worm expert, but are you looking to catch some worms to put them somewhere else? or just hope they will appear in a patch of enriched soil?
I think a lot of moisture and food scraps helps and I think you need to get a pretty thick layer going, a few inches probably doesnt cut it
