Good to see that there is some real action at last.

I am a little disappointed that Cashies didn?t announce what the nominal amount of the compulsory acquisition will be. They must have worked that out surely, why not release it. Anyway, I am working on one cent a share. The tax treatment will be interesting; hopefully it can be treated as a return of capital with the only tax consequences being a reduction in the cost price for CGT purposes.

The period 18 August 2011 to 30 August 2011 will present a rare opportunity to trade on a deferred settlement basis. I am working on the logic that Cashies will report on or around the 24th August 2011. The market has been starved of any good news in relation to Cashies, so I expect a lift in the shareprice when Cashies profit is announced which I expect will be a ripper.

I hope to be able to buy after the 18th and sell before the 30th (after the profit release) without having to cough up any dough. In fact, if all goes well I will get a payment back. I live in hope, knowing my luck the US market will have a meltdown just before I go to sell. Such is life.

One small item that you might have missed, the number of corporate stores has increased to 88 (41 in AUS and 47 in the UK), which is a 10% increase since 31 December 2010. The 200th store opening in the UK will not be too far away.
