Some share price moves to keep an eye on in the market:
NEWCREST MINING (NCM) up 24c to $41.05: Touched $41.50. Increased gold production 16pc to 700,124oz in the June quarter from 604,791oz for the March quarter. Its Wafi-Golpu Mineral Resource in PNG grew to more than 1Bt of ore containing 26.6Moz gold and 9Mt copper.
SANTOS (STO) up 8c to $13.43: Reported production of 11.9m barrels of oil-equivalent in the June quarter, 8pc higher than the first quarter of 2011 and in line with the corresponding quarter in 2010.
RESOLUTE MINING (RSG) down 5c to $1.34: Gold production rose 2pc to 85,421oz in the June quarter from 83,790oz in the March quarter but total gold production for the year fell 6pc to 330,859oz.
HFA HOLDINGS (HFA) up 3c to $1.18: Has confirmed that, taking into account its change in functional currency to $US, its FY11 result will be at the upper end of guidance of $17m to $19m EBITDA.
SOUTHERN CROSS GOLDFIELDS (SXG) up 1.4c to 7.9c: Touched 8.3c. In-fill and extensional drilling has returned a series of thick, near-surface, high-grade intersections at the Python gold deposit, one of four key deposits at its 100pc-owned Marda Gold Project in WA.
QUICKFLIX (QFX) down 1c to 10.5c: Completed a placement of 55m shares at 8.5c each to institutional and sophisticated investors to raise $4.675m. Funds raised will go towards sustained growth and the rollout of Quickflix's digital launch.
AVIVA CORP (AVA) up 1c to 23.5c: Will raise in the order of $6m through placement of 30m shares at 20c. The Sentient Group intends to acquire 17.5m shares to the value of $3.5m, giving it a 10.5pc stake.
TEXON PETROLEUM (TXN) up 1c to 55c: Went as high as 57.5c. Peeler #3 in the Gulf Coast of Texas has reached its total vertical depth of 2,774m (9,100ft). This is the 11th well in the Leighton oil and gas field, all of which are successful oil and gas producers.
IMMURON (IMC) up 0.7c to 7.2c: Was advised by its research partner, Case Western Reserve University Center for AIDS Research, Ohio, that Immuron's immune therapy product, IMM-243 is to proceed to an expanded study of recently infected (naive) HIV-1 patients.
OVERLAND RESOURCES (OVR) up 1.5c to 16.5c: Diamond drilling "progressing very well" at its Yukon Base Metal Project in Canada. High-grade mineralisation has been intersected in drilling at both ends of the Darcy Zinc Deposit.
IMAGE RESOURCES (IMA) up 3c to 47c: Went as high as 50c after identifying a major extension to the Gingin South heavy mineral deposit at the North Perth Basin Project.
CERAMIC FUEL CELLS (CFU) up 1.5c to 15.5c: Signed a distribution agreement for Zestiq to market and sell Ceramic's BlueGen gas-to-electricity products in the Netherlands.
