This seems to me to be a strangely worded statement. I would have thought that a lower wage would be a benefit to business? Or is he saying that they cannot get workers to come because the wages sre low? Is this one of the paradoxes of capitalism?
"Now there's a lot of fantastic things happening in Tasmania, there's a terrific tourism industry and it is a clean, green island in many respects," he said.
So you'd think they woudl ne wise to be very picky about the sort of businesses they want to attract. Gunns mill a non-no for instance.
