Pete88,
I have a question that's been puzzling me for a while now. JHEP has significant DSO reserves, in the range of 150Mt+. However, I do not understand why they decided during the BFS to mine less of it per year in the future than currently.
They are planning to mine 1.5Mt per year for the next 10 years. Why are they planning to mine only 15Mt over 10 years? I would have thought mining more DSO upfront would be more cost efficient and bring in more dollars to develop the magnetite concentrate circuit?
DSO is so much easier and cheaper to mine and ship, since it only requires crushing and screening (eg no concentration). Why are they leaving the other 135Mt+ in the ground?
Any idea?
