"The outcome of the study indicates that the most suitable sites for the construction of the TSF are Sites 5 & 6 (as indicated in Figure 5), on the Farm Maandagshoek 254KT (Knight Piesold, 2009a). Initially it was planned that Garatau will require two TSF's for the separate disposal of the MR and UG2 tailings in order that the tailings could be reprocessed at a later stage for Chromium (Cr), hence the two sites. It has since been decided to proceed with processing the tailings for Cr, therefore the tailings from the two reefs will be co-disposed at one TSF. The final site selected is thus a combination of site 5 & 6."
