I would love to see them come out and say "we will give SDL the licence to mine no matter what".

Hopefully some good things have come out of this weeks meeting in Beijing - we know SDL was over there meeting with Hanlong and assuming they were meeting with Biya and other Chinese officials as well. Something more than news articles will have to come from those meetings.
No real reason a deal can't be done to satisfy everyone - SDL gets JV, Cameroon gets mining underway, China gets new supplier of ore - thus a bit cheaper, Hanlong makes a heap on SP rise, Beef makes enough to enjoy a good steak dinner.
