I agree PT,but dont be to disparaged their has been of late an indication that the US government is changing its reckless attitude towards expenditure.Not before time imo, anyway here are some recent observations i have noticed.
advoidance of military action in libya
seeking to withdraw from afghanistan
cessation of quantative easing
cessation of shuttle program
massive cuts to military expenditure
I also agree with the work life balance issues you have raised very important.This apparent change in US attitude is very promising.
