Hi Chrylsalis It's not the evolving that is the problem it is that people (especially the young) have no ability to comprehend the written word.
What happens if the want to read a book?
The language is not evolving it is diminishing
There are lots of people who are now getting by with a vocabulary of about 50 words. I do not include those whose native language is other than English
Have a little test of your own, ask someone to read a book and highlight words they don't know and then ask for definitions of those that they say they know!
After that tell me that the English language is alive and well
