The "aspiring middle class" is everyone's target. The workers are necessary for the system to continue and don't have enough money anyway. The truly wealthy know how the game is rigged.
The mug in the middle has enough cash to make it worth while ripping them off, the "illuminati" see them as a threat which must be kept in check and are generally unsophisticated and keep their wealth in the domestic currency which can be (and often is) caused to collapse.
Argentina and Brazil are two countries which should be able to well enough but their middle-classes have been destroyed. That is what looks to have happened in the US too and they still seem reluctant to get their assets out of the US$.
