i know and have met folk who got 14k an acre from hilcorp. that was about 6 month to a year ago when that was offered.

as i say, hilcorp/marathon are paying 10k, and its usual for conoco to be at 8k, they may be increasing that price in live oak for all i know.

noble is offering $10k an acre in the paper ads they ran for 2 weeks that i mentioned before, they are going after anything thats left i assume

when the land deals are packaged up into bigger bundles and either worked by small caps or mid caps, they can sell it on for many times that, recently we saw marathon purchase hilcorp, you may not be familiar with the deal, but it was for significantly more than whats being paid today by the likes of marathon and noble to the landowners and original leaseholders.
