Yes I expect they will try for a cheaper offer now - the question is will Kalahari accept it. There are going to be some real bargains out there if the market keeps going down -extract being one of them.
If they go too cheap however there is more likelihood of being trumped by other interested parties. I still feel quite sure once the mining license is approved there will be a bidding war.
On the plus side it is good for takeover exchange rates if the Australian dollar keeps going down.
A sliding dollar followed by a bidding war would be just perfect. (ever the optimist!)
