I haven't bought cartridge style razors in years and have been happy enough with the disposable types,
Nothing wrong with disposables although a couple of Xmasses ago I bought Mrs H a vibrating Gillette cartridge type (a joke) and she returned the favour. They are good too. I don't understand the OP's problem.
