Thompson is safe for now, and you can be certain there is an open account for the best lawyers and spin doctors. I imagine there is also a pile of cash going the way of others (eg brother owners, prostitutes and participants) who can spill the beans. Must be costing Labor a pretty penny, but then again, small price to pay when you are on the cusp of realising your Fabian goals.... the "greater good" as they say.
If Abbott wants to gain traction he could draw attention to some of the "real" atrocities of the Brillard government or come up with some alternative policies of his own ... or get rid of Hockey or Bishop... any of these outomes might actually increase his political stocks and tempt Wilkie to come over.
