I think there is still a lot of action around Palmer R. My query was curiosity only, something I've wondered about, but my legs wouldn't stand up to the rigors.
The little creek which flows through Ravenswood yielded a lot of alluvial gold but the area has not lent itself to profitable large scale mining.
