"Now now don't be so harsh on Rupert Murdoch iron-mike after all he has been supporting your side recently. Dave R."
I thought it was work choices that brought Howard down?
Why would the Murdoch media (or any media) try to sell news to a minority? I think most media will give the people the news to which they will listen or buy. Obviously there is always some content for the minority (not sure about ABC news though as they do not have to sell their product to survive...lol)
I know that media do have power which they should not abuse, however, if they are giving voice to the majority, isn't that a good thing? In 2007 the majority had turned against Howard over work choices and the Murdoch media was not the only media giving them a voice.
Now, in 2011, the Murdoch media are giving voice to the majority who have turned against this rather absurd and power hungry labor brand. If other media are smart, they will also go with the flow if they want their news to sell.
Whilever the media is giving the majority a voice, they should NOT be controlled or even silenced by political parties. Otherwise we lose even more of our democracy as a nation, imo.
